Post Workout Pain

We shot some #SMACKUnit behind-the-scenes footage during our weekly stunt training session last night.  Imagine this: a total of four super-fit acrobat guys (2 pairs… they switched off, so they were always fresh) coming at you to “attack” you.  Constantly.  Yeah.

So I practiced my sequence about a hundred times, we filmed a few, and then I went home and died.  😉  It was a blast, but let’s just say I took a “rest day” today.  And regretted laughing every time I did because my abs are so sore.  #funstuff #kickingass #youshouldhaveseentheotherguys

We have just a week left of funding to make this show happen.  If you are waiting to make a pledge, please don’t wait any longer.

Almost done with a script!

image-1Off to a writing meeting with our little development team – Shahaub Roudbari and David Crabtree.  We’re pitching a television project that I’ll star in with Shahaub, and we’re putting the finishing touches on our script for the sizzle reel!  Excited!  This is a photo from our last meeting.  The Three Stooges has a whole new meaning now.

The 2012 ABC Talent Showcase is tomorrow

Me, Jahnika Blythe and Meagan Holder
AKA “the black girls in the showcase”

…and I’m exhausted.  I wanted to try to get to bed early tonight, but I had to make a last minute trip to the mall at Hollywood and Highland to get some wardrobe options for tomorrow (we’ve revised my character (yet again!) to be a bit more sexy and demure than funny and quirky), and then a quick trip to Target for some thank you cards, then a phone call from an old friend, and now I’ve finally washed my face and brushed my teeth for bed and it’s 1 AM.  How does that happen?  This whole showcase process has been completely nuts, but soooo much fun!  The best part by far?  The friends I’ve made.  Cheesy, but so true.  For the last week, me and my fellow 11 actors have been cooped up for 13 hours per day at the El Portal Theater.  Eating 3 meals per day together, laughing endlessly, overcoming frustrations over our scenes, tweaking and re-tweaking our performances… I can’t believe it’s all going to be over tomorrow by 8:30.

I’m having Our House withdrawal

rave reviews for Our House

The cast of OUR HOUSE had a weekend off for the understudy cast performances (the cast was FANTASTIC, by the way!), and I’m itching to get back on stage this weekend. We haven’t yet received any official word of an extension, so these next two weekends may be your last chance to see it! Visit www.plays411.com/ourhouse and enter coupon code 008 for half-price tickets! Trust me. It’s a fun show. And scarily relevant right now.
