Weekend Recipe – Bloody Caesar
When in Vancouver, do as the Canadians do… and they drink Bloody Caesars instead of good ol’ Bloody Marys. They’re made with Clamato in place of standard tomato juice. Clamato is tomato juice and clam juice, which I know… sounds questionable… but is really delicious. Duplicate the Caesar by trying this weekend’s recipe:
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1-2 ozs of your fav vodka
- Clamato juice, spicy is best in my humble opinion
- Worcestershire sauce
- Tabasco sauce or similar hot sauce
- celery salt (for rim)
- mozzarella and/or pickled veggie and/or olive and lime wedge (for garnish)
- ice
Preparation:
Rim a pint glass with celery salt
Fill the glass with ice
Pour Worcestershire sauce into glass to the count of three (three good, solid shakes)
Add Tabasco to taste: for heat-lovers, 7-10 drops.
Add 1-2 ounces of vodka (or no vodka for virgin Caesar)
Top with Clamato juice
Garnish and enjoy that Bloody Caesar.Variations on the above standard Bloody Caesar recipe include replacing the Tabasco with horseradish. It’s almost like making a raw oyster… but not. 🙂
